Denia Castle


Denia Castle is the major monument of the city: it is considered a very important cultural and historical center. It is located in the old town, where you will find Muslim-style streets and monuments, that reveals their Muslim past.


Inside, we will find the Archaeological Museum, with interesting objects from Roman, Muslim, and Christian times.


From the castle, you can enjoy the astonishing city views of Denia: the charming port of the city, the sea, the mountains, and the old quarter. It is definitely a privileged location in Denia.


We must also mention the Denia castle tunnel. This castle was created during the Spanish civil war. The tunnel was designed to provide refuge during the bombings of the war.


The tunnel goes through the castle hill below: it connects the north and south of Denia: is used to cross from one place to another


Baix La Mar


This cool seafaring district of Denia is a marvelous place to stroll and lose yourself in its narrow pedestrian streets. It is located just below the castle of Denia.

Its picturesque houses stand out due to their colorful façades.


One of the biggest attractions of Denia and this neighborhood, in particular, is its great gastronomic tradition: you will find lots of restaurants and bars where you can spend a nice time. You have to taste some of its traditional products such as its incredible prawns or its popular rices. 


The old quarter of Denia


In the historic center, there are many interesting places to see, apart from the already mentioned Baix La Mar neighborhood.


In the beginning, you will find the Church of Our Lady of Loreto, located in Plaza de la Constitución, right next to the town hall. A few meters away you can see the Denia Local Market, where many local people buy fresh meat, vegetables, and fish.


Very close, we can see Loreto street. This street is pedestrianized and stands out for its large number of shops, bars, restaurants, and different venues.


Beaches of Denia


Denia is very popular for its incredible beaches, in summer, many tourists come to enjoy the more than 15 kilometers long coastline.


It has a breathtaking marina with the best bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy the sunset on their terraces.


Some of the longest beaches are Las Marinas beach or Punta Negra beach.: ideal if you go with children.


Les Bovetes beach is also one of the favorite options among families with children, as it is a shallow beach with fine sand, perfect for playing.
